Bypass.

2. Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades.

3. Here a great number of disabled people used to lie—the blind, the lame, the paralyzed.

5. One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years.

6. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”

7. “Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.”

8. Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.”

9. At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.
The day on which this took place was a Sabbath,

History above tells us about the many ways in which God deals with us. Here Jesus teaches with the miracle that all power belongs to God. It is not about a set of rules or connection, God can bypass all our positioning, rules, and connections to favor you.


In verse 2 to 5 of John Chapter 5, we are told the background of this man. And not only that we are also made to be aware of his disability, despite the fact that he was at a place of mercy (Bethesda) and also surrounded by grace ( surrounded by five covered colonnades ). 
He was also strategically positioned, for he was in a place where healing always take place.
When the master came by and asked him ( “Do you want to get well?” ) i for one thought He was been insensitive for a man that has spent such amount of years in that position, he was also at a place where people go for healing. But i have come to understand that people can not be forced to accept anything. 
I have come across people that though are married do not want to have kids, some are comfortable  with just relationship but do not want to commit to a marriage.
And the man in question replied, not maybe he wanted to be healed, but instead gave all the excuses that he can give. Some will tell you that they want a job but it must be in a certain industry, they want a guy but he must be taking home so and so digits. But for some that really want to move on, God can bypass your limitations and give you your heart desire.
One would have expected Jesus, according to the excuses given to help him into the water, or stop other people from not allowing him to get in to the water at the right time. But Jesus just spoke to him ( “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” ) and the story changed.
The world we are living in right now can not be changed, we can only bypass it, you can not change the wrong in economy, media, society, and external forces, you can only ask God to help you bypass them.

Setting Priorities

Welcome to 2012! It's a new day, a new week and a New Year. It's the day, week and year that the Lord has made, so let's rejoice and be glad in it!

Do you ever feel like the first week back to your routine after the holidays is a bit "vanilla?" After the excitement of the season, spending time with friends and family, shopping, going to Christmas events, and giving and receiving gifts, "normal" can seem, well…normal.

If you're like me, you have your daily to-do list: Run the kids to soccer, stop by the grocery store, finish a project at work. You rush here and there, taking care of all the things that matter most: the family, job, friends, church. It's so easy to slip right back into the daily grind. Before you know it, you're checking off your list…but Oh yeah, did you forget to put yourself on the list? Do you ever find that you're so busy investing in everyone else that you're constantly running on empty?

I heard someone say that you have to "show up" for yourself before you can "show up" for others. If you are constantly giving and never replenishing, you will be left feeling drained and frustrated. We are God's creation, and we have a responsibility to keep ourselves at our best. God never planned for us to live stressed out and overbooked. He created the world and all that is in it, and then He took a day off. You also need to take time to rest and enjoy the fruit of your labor! You have to make rest a priority in your life. When you are rested, you are able to manage your days better and handle the challenges that arise better, too.

This year, be determined to invest in yourself spiritually, physically and emotionally, and make it a priority! Take care of yourself because when you rise higher, you cause others to rise higher. When you are filled, you have something to give to others. When you live at your best, you are setting an example and letting your light shine brightly to the world around you. Be your best, live your best, and expect 2012 to be your best year yet, to the glory of God!

Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"(Matthew 22:37-39, NIV).

The Goal

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers,

to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,

until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,

so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.

Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,

from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
